Martinka in American Road
PrintThe current issue of American Road Magazine featured a nice article about Martinka. We liked the way they ended the story:
"Francis Martinka never imagined the last trick would be played on him. During the 1910s - mere years before his death - he frequently opined in the daily papers that the era of the magician had passed. 'I can look forward to the time... when magic will become one of the forgotten arts,' he lamented in 1913, never expecting that - more than one hundred years later - his little shop of hocus-pocus would have accomplished the greatest trick of all. Now you see it - and now you still see it."
